Our company, Ideal Landscaping & Irrigation, has been proudly serving the Triad since 1999. Our crew is looking to add a lawn care technician to our team.
2023 will be our first year performing our own lawn care applications; up until this year, we were contracting out our lawn care services. This position is a great opportunity for a technician to get in on the ground floor as we continue to grow our market share!
Our office is located in Kernersville, North Carolina. All lawn care technician applicants must live in Kernersville or in a nearby area such as Winston-Salem, Greensboro, High Point, Oakridge, or Walkertown.
Lawn Care Technician Responsibilities:
- Mix and apply fertilizers, pesticides, and herbicides to lawns according to label requirements. Monitor the progress of these applications
- Proactively identify lawn/plant development needs and determine if additional services are needed
- Safely operate equipment and perform safety checks and daily maintenance of all equipment
- Acquire and maintain a commercial applicator license
- Stay abreast of current industry trends, regulations, technical data, new products, safety standards, equipment, and more
- Report to the specialty services manager
Lawn Care Technician Applicant Requirements:
- Must be able to operate equipment including but not limited to backpack sprayers, hand-sprayers, commercial dry fertilizer lawn spreaders, and irrigation equipment
- Must have observational and analytical problem-solving skills, including an eye for spotting potential lawn or landscaping issues early on and the ability to accurately assess the problem and identify the solution
- Ability and desire to communicate and interact with others professionally, build rapport, please customers, and express sincere concern for customer needs
- Must have a high school education diploma or equivalent
- Ability to acquire a North Carolina pesticide applicator license within 6 months on the job
- Must have a valid NC driver’s license that is not currently suspended
- Must have reliable transportation to and from our office in Kernersville, NC
- Ability to work in various weather conditions
- Previous lawn care or equivalent experience (preferred)
- Knowledge of common regional plants, fertilization techniques, irrigation, different types of turf, lawn diseases, weeds, and outdoor pests (preferred)
Pay
- $20+/hr, depending on experience
Hours:
- This is a full-time position (40 hours per week, Monday through Friday)
- This position might require extended work days, overtime, and weekend work as needed
